...SNOW MELT AND SOME RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO LEAD TO AN INCREASED THREAT OF LANDSLIDES IN WESTERN WASHINGTON THROUGH SUNDAY... There is a continued threat of landslides for the lowlands of western Washington at elevations below about 1500 feet through Sunday. Precipitation combined with melting snow has saturated the soil, and has increased the threat for landslides at elevations below 1500 feet. Melting snow is very efficient at increasing soil moisture and is not well represented in the landslide indices. The threat will decrease Sunday through Monday as drier and cooler air moves into the area.
